REVIEWS FROM OUR CENTRES AND SCHOOLS

insect incursions

Year 1 had a visit from the amazing Ang for an Eco-Bugs incursion. Students got to learn about the importance of insects in the garden and their role in our ecosystem. Ang introduced Year 1 to microhabitats such as worm farms and showed them how easy it would be to make one at home. The best part was when students got to hold wiggly worms and a stick insect. We also played fun games and enjoyed hands-on experiences to build knowledge about composting and recycling and an awareness of what we can implement in the garden and school environment.

Glasshouse Christian College

A beautiful program. The butterfly garden encouraged the children to explore insects and their habitats to foster a simple understanding of biodiversity. The highlight was releasing the butterflies into the natural environment. Highly recommend!

Kiddies on First Early Learning Childcare Centre

Our Kindy loved the Kidz Dance Fit visit with Ang! Children learnt about safe dance practice, used stimulus material to move to different styles of music, changing pace and dynamics to match the music. They improvised with different body parts and props. It was a fun, creative session for our healthy movement break, and fits in nicely with the Early Years Learning Framework.

The Ecobug incursion was different to any incursion we have had before. It is very educational and the children learnt lots of valuable information. The interactive screen really got the children's attention, and the music and dancing were also great as it got the children involved.

St Anthony's Early Learning Centre

We homeschool, and this product was a great addition to our classroom!

This was a very helpful resource for my students with mild-severe disabilities. They absolutely loved the different dance cards, it got them engaged in excited about participating.

Thank you so much! It was hard for me to find fraction slides, and you really came through. Keep creating! Thank you!

Lizzie Lodinsky

This is such a wonderful pack for building classroom community. A variety of activities and has something for everyone. Thank you!

Jennifer W

I love the simplicity of this sound wall option. Some look extremely complicated and overwhelming.

Local indigenous story of the sacred Glass House Mountains Qld

The Glass House Mountains are a group of volcanic peaks on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast, and they hold deep cultural and spiritual significance for the local Indigenous Australian people, particularly the Gubbi Gubbi (Kabi Kabi) and Jinibara peoples.

According to one sacred Dreaming story, the mountains are a family. Tibrogargan is the father, Beerwah is the mother, and the smaller peaks are their children. One day, Tibrogargan saw a great flood coming from the sea. He told his eldest son, Coonowrin, to help his mother and siblings escape. But Coonowrin ran away in fear, failing to protect his family.

Tibrogargan was so ashamed of his son’s cowardice that he struck him, disfiguring his neck—this is why Mt Coonowrin is said to have a crooked appearance. From that day on, Tibrogargan turned his back on Coonowrin and has never looked at him again.

This story teaches values of courage, responsibility, and respect for family. The Glass House Mountains continue to be sacred to Traditional Custodians and are places of ceremony, law, and storytelling.

Meet the Spiny Leaf Stick Insect: Nature’s Master of Disguise!

In our 'Wriggly Worms and Creepy Crawlies' incursions, we visit schools, kindergartens and childcare centres with many of our insect friends, such as our very popular Spiny Leaf Stick Insects (also known as Extatosoma tiaratum). These are perfect for an audience of teachers, students, or curious nature-lovers.

Australia is home to many weird and wonderful creatures—but few are as fascinating as the Spiny Leaf Stick Insect. With its jagged body, leaf-like limbs, and remarkable camouflage, this insect looks more like a plant than a living thing!

Let’s explore why this insect is a favourite in classrooms, gardens, and among bug lovers everywhere.
