The Wriggly Worms and Creepy Crawlies Incursion (45-60 minutes) is designed for Kindy (3-4 years) or Primary School classes - Prep to Year 2 (5-8 years) or Vacation Care (General ages between 5-12). Classes can be adapted as shorter 30 minute toddler/ pre kindy 'add-on' session (max. 22 children per class) to involve your littlest childcare classes too (2-3 years) if held on the same day as a full-price session. We can also offer a Vacation Care / OSHC session to suit a broader range of Primary School ages (max. 35 children per group) and often run a 'Junior' session and a 'Senior' session for Vacation Care or OSHC groups.

Wriggly Worms and Creepy Crawlies is a one-off incursion encouraging children to consider the link between our Environment and the role insects play in our ecosystems to maintain a healthy, balanced world.
During this incursion we:
- Explore the importance of insects in the garden and their life cycles
- Learn fun facts about the insects including worms, spiny leaf stick insects, butterflies and bees.
- Introduce children to microhabitats such as worm farms
- Meet and interact with our puppet friends - 'Litter Bug' and 'Wriggly Worm'
- Learn to reduce the amount of vegetable scraps ending up in our rubbish cycle
- Allow children to hold live insects if they would like to or watch them up close - for Kindy and Primary School age. (toddler classes may 'touch' or view the insects but generally don't hold at this age).

With fun games and hands on experiences, this incursion builds knowledge about composting and recycling, while increasing awareness of practices that can be implemented in the home and school environment.
This program is a Ladybug Academy licensed program provided by Teach Fun Oz on the Sunshine Coast, Brisbane and Hinterland. Presented by a qualified, experienced teacher of over 23 years. Registered with QCT, Working with Children checks, Insured and Risk Assessments.
