The Kidz Dance Fit incursion for Early years is perfect for Kindy, Prep to Year 2 (approx. ages 4-7 years old) We also offer a range of other versions of this incursion to suit Upper Primary classes, Pre-Kindy/Toddler and Adult sessions too. This incursion offers fantastic photo opportunities of the whole class as well as individual children whilst enjoying dancing and using colourful ribbons in some of the songs.
Within the Kidz Dance Fit Early Years session the following curriculum items are covered through a digital slideshow mini-lesson, fun group dance fitness session, followed by a calming quiet meditation session at the end (approx. 35 minutes in total):

Different dances and music styles including popular movie soundtracks, upbeat fast songs, a South African song, slower lyrical song and nature sounds to finish off with stretching and relaxation at the end.
- Creative expression, rhythmic response to interesting beats and sounds
- Creative animal movements game including physical skills such as jumping, hopping, sliding, marching, wiggling

- Using different body parts in different ways
- Using props in dance - colourful ribbons
- Introduction into the 'Elements of Dance' - changing movements
- Gross motor skills, coordination, balance, flexibility and stretching
- Dance for health, fitness, social and fun - upbeat dance fitness session
- Recognising sequences and repetitive patterns in movements
- Relaxation and calming session
This session could be effective as an introduction into the Dance and Arts Curriculum at the start of a unit, or as a Culmination of Dance teachings throughout a program. It can help to support Health and Physical Education outcomes, form part of Class Movement Breaks, Team-Building activities, Camps, Rewards Days and just for fun!
