If you are a Kindy or School (Prep to Year 2) on the Sunshine Coast or in Brisbane areas, this Road Safety Incursion is for you!

**NOTE: No bikes or scooters are required for this incursion. Although some fun, physical roleplay with physical items is included in the show, children do not physically ride their bikes or scooters in this session - it is for educational safety purposes only - to promote safe riding when they do go out and about at home or after school.
Available for booking now in 2025 and 2026. Children learn about vital Road Safety and Bike Safety topics supporting the Kindy and Early Primary School Curriculum such as:
- Safety awareness of self and other users of the road and footpaths
- How to approach situations in a safe way when riding bikes, scooters, walking or when near a road, pathway or carpark.
- Reflecting on actions and consider consequences for others
- Recognising safe and unsafe situations
- Seeking help from trusted adults when needed
- Actively participating in discussions, decision-making and group role-playing road safe scenarios
- Becoming aware of fairness and safety - why we need to follow road and bike safety rules
- Encouraging personal safety strategies while engaging in physical outdoor activities such as bike riding, skateboarding, scooter riding, walking, jogging
- Recognising potential hazards while out and about and problem-solving solutions independently if needed
- Identifying signs, symbols and procedures in their community that support their health and safety e.g. pedestrian crossings, traffic lights, road and bike pathways, and traffic controllers at school crossings.
- Practise recognising and following safety symbols and procedures in road environments
- Understanding that texts can take many forms such as signs out in the community to look out for.
- Exploring different reasons why we ride and do things near the road
- Being sun-safe outdoors
- Road rules that apply to walkers and riders
- Crossing the road safely
- Safe bike checks and problem-solving if something goes wrong with your bike
- Safe rider behaviours - road and pathway signaling, safe distance from cars and left-hand side
